The last two weekends were packed. Our riders competed at both MYRA and the Central Indiana Junior Rodeo Association. Every rider showed progress. Every horse stepped up.
Mirren earned her second Nationals qualifying run in poles. She also pushed her barrel times forward with more control and faster decisions in the turns.
Bonnie punched her Nationals ticket in poles. She stayed steady under pressure and kept her patterns clean.
Brooklyn rode clean and confident. Her barrel pattern looked smooth. Her pole pattern showed control and improving timing.
Loretta brought home her first qualifying run on Gemma. This was her comeback moment after being thrown by Gemma a year ago. She rode forward, trusted herself, and finished strong. Her confidence grew in one weekend.
Ella had a rough weekend in barrels and poles, but she earned another qualifying run in trail. She continues to surprise us. Trail was not on the radar at the start of the season. Now she is lining up for Nationals in trail and has a strong chance at ribbon roping with Ainsley. Nobody saw that coming. She keeps proving herself.
We now enter a 30 day travel hold due to the recent EHV outbreak. It is not worth the risk to haul until things settle.
While we stay home, our program keeps moving. We continue No Stirrup November. We attended the Lameness Seminar with MFF Veterinary Services, hosted by Dr. Hailey Mourer. The kids asked thoughtful questions and stayed engaged.
Gibbs is legging up for the December holiday sale. Maverick is preparing for late winter and early spring hunter jumper shows. Both horses need structure, conditioning, and clear goals.
A lot of gears are turning. The kids keep pushing. The horses keep learning. I am tired, but proud.
We keep adding patches to our 2026 jackets. The work is paying off.
