This past weekend at the Indiana Junior Rodeo Association (IJRA), Dale Rosa Equine’s youngest cowgirl, Bonnie Widick, made big moves in the arena — and we couldn’t be prouder!

At just 5 years old, Bonnie is one of the youngest competitors in the Little Wrangler division, and she’s already showing the grit, heart, and determination of a seasoned rodeo athlete.

⏱️ Personal Bests in Both Events!

Bonnie hit the arena with her sights set high — and it paid off!

• Barrel Racing: New personal best of 34 seconds

• Pole Bending: Broke her own record with a 22-second run(Final placings still pending from IJRA)

These aren’t just numbers — they’re a reflection of hard work, consistency, and the confidence she’s building in and out of the saddle.

Bonnie’s barrel partner is none other than Dixie, a kind, steady mare who’s helped several of our riders build confidence and reach goals. What makes this story extra special? Bonnie has personally trained Dixie to learn the barrel pattern — a huge accomplishment for any rider, let alone one so young!

Their bond is built on trust, patience, and a whole lot of determination. Together, they’re learning, growing, and chasing dreams — one turn at a time.

With continued practice and a few fine-tuned adjustments, Bonnie is on track to rise to the top of her division. She’s already catching eyes — and hearts — at every run.
