Supporting mobility, recovery, and readiness in performance horses, rodeo stock, and show animals.
At Cold Steel Performance, we deliver targeted recovery support for elite equine athletes and livestock performers. Whether you’re prepping for a run, cooling down post-show, or managing the demands of the road, our recovery services are built to support circulation, enhance movement, and promote soft tissue reset.
We specialize in COâ‚‚-based cryotherapy and instrument-assisted fascia work (IASTM)—two advanced, non-invasive tools used by top athletes around the world. These services are safe, effective, and tailored to the unique demands of performance horses, rodeo athletes, and high-value show stock.
Targeted Cryotherapy
Using the America Cryo Subzero system, we deliver fast, focused streams of COâ‚‚ across key muscle zones. This cooling method is designed to support circulation, muscle recovery, and relaxation—ideal after a hard run, haul, or training session.
From hocks and stifles to shoulders and backs, we target the muscle groups that carry the most tension. Our cryotherapy protocols are based on proven techniques and allow you to choose individual units or full-body sessions depending on your animal’s needs.
Whether it's a rodeo horse coming off a tough weekend, a halter steer in prep for a jackpot, or a show pig recovering from travel, targeted cryo helps support physical readiness and recovery across all species.

IASTM: Fascia Mobilization for Athletic Animals
Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a fascia-focused technique that uses specialized tools to gently identify and release areas of tightness or restriction.
Fascia is the web of connective tissue surrounding muscles. When it becomes sticky or restricted, it can affect movement and performance. IASTM helps mobilize that tissue, improve glide, and promote smoother, more natural motion.
We adapt each session to the build and workload of your animal—whether it’s a rope horse that’s been compensating, a halter steer with stiffness from trailering, or a performance horse needing a full-body tune-up. Fascia work helps restore balance and sets the stage for more effective cryo recovery.

Why This Combo Works
By combining fascia release with cryotherapy, we offer a dual-action recovery experience. Fascia tools help locate and loosen up problem areas. Cryo follows with cold exposure to boost circulation, support soft tissue reset, and cool down inflammation-prone zones.
Together, they work to:
✅ Improve mobility
✅ Support circulation
✅ Release tension
✅ Aid in post-performance cooldown
This combo is a favorite for:
-
Post-run reset
-
Pre-show prep
-
Haul recovery
-
Mid-week conditioning
We offer unit-based services and custom packages for horses, steers, goats, pigs, and more.

Sharper Recovery. Stronger Performance. Unmatched Results.

Cold Steel Performance delivers elite cryotherapy solutions with the power of the America Cryo SubZero device.

Whitney Widick
Whitney is certified Precision Equine Cryotherapy and America Cryo Equine. Based in East Central Illinois, where life takes her from rodeos to horse and livestock shows, and even to boarding and training barns.
She grew up with Quarter Horses and has had them all her life. Her family also has a deep history in Angus show cattle, and she spent her younger years raising and showing Angus and Crossbred show steers and market heifers—so she’s been working with four-legged athletes of all kinds.
She holds an Associate’s degree in Equine Management, with many upper-level animal science and agricultural education courses, and has trained and shown in both Western and English disciplines.
Over the past decade, she’s taught beginner and intermediate horsemanship lessons to a diverse group of students, ranging from children to adults.
Whitney deeply values all the trainers and clinicians who have influenced and taught her along the way, living by the phrase: "If you're not learning, you're not growing." A true craver of knowledge, she has a passion for helping both people and their animal athletes succeed.
When not working with horses, she can be found wrangling her kids at junior rodeos or cheering on her husband, a team roper.
